Eliza R. Snow

April shared a beautiful Presidency Message about previous General Relief Society President, Eliza R. Snow. What an excellent opportunity for us, as sisters, to learn of and from the lives of these previous great women who forged the way for us today.

A few quotes from the lesson that we could all benefit from:

"Take care of the things at home first and everything else will fall into place. "

"Be of good cheer and light the burdens of others."

" Walk not in the borrowed light of others."

Eliza presided over the Relief Society for sixteen years without counselors. She was truly an example to us all of faith and dedication. Eliza's goals in life after joinng the church were "Cheer the Saints and Teach the Doctrine. Eliza Snow was an amazing and heroic woman, who led by example and her outspokenness, in word, example and music.

Next month, we'll be studying about Zina Young, the third Relief Society President. The main source of studies for these lessons is "Faith, Hope and Charity" by Janet Peterson and LaRene Gaunt.
